It's worth mentioning that I have an officially licensed Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows that works totally fine, but the Afterglow is a bit newer and less worn down, so I use it primarily. I'm running a Windows 8.1 64-bit computer with a GTX 970 as previously mentioned, which seems to be the only difference between it working and not working. How moving some silicon around would make a unrelated piece of software start acting up. I don't know if hardware has anything to do with it, but I don't see After looking into other people who have the same problem, I can't find anyone who experienced it after changing graphics cards or anything of the sort. The Devices and Printers dialogue didn't even recognize it as a device in the first place, putting it under "Unspecified". After uninstalling the Xbox controller for windows software/drivers from my "Remove a program" tab, reinstalling the same (most updated win7 圆4 drivers) and restarting, it gives the same error, although this time Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API." In the properties > hardware tab > Xbox 360 Controller for Windows Properties, I can see a little text box that has the following: In my "devices and printers" it is listed as a "Afterglow Gamepad for Xbox 360" (like always) and has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to it (not like always). However, after changing GPU, that didn't seem enough for it anymore. Before changing graphics cards, it would work as expected, working off of the primary Microsoft I've always used it as my PC controller with no problems, and it's functioned as advertised.

Then, connect your PS3 controller to your PC via the mini-USB cable to install the initial set of PS3 controller drivers.I somewhat recently took the plunge and purchased a new GTX 970 from amazon, and after a long day of setup (my computer wasn't on my side) I finally managed to get it working like a charm. Before anything else, make sure your PS3 is disconnected because if you press the PS button, it will connect with and turn on the PS3, thus not letting you connect it to your PC. You will receive a warning about the driver potentially being incompatible, because Microsoft can't verify that it will work for your device. Find the option 'Microsoft Common Controller for Windows class' As your Afterglow controller is wired, select the 'Xbox 360 Controller for Windows' option.
